Maybe it’s time to let it go. I’d probably hate myself in a few months for it, but I honestly don’t love it anymore. It needs tons of work, and I just haven’t really had the motivation to do it. It’s been a week and a half since I last drove it, and not once have I thought about taking it anywhere. I’ve been through so much with it, but I don’t really know if that is worth keeping it around anymore. That said, it would need a light trail replacement...

Kinja'd!!!

I probably won’t because of emotional attachment, but I also kind of feel like that part of me has kind of left. Maybe it’s the last part of the old me that is left.

It’s okay to let go, it’s hard though. Either way you’ll always get to keep the memories

As some others have said, sometimes it is just time. Some may not get it, but we’re car people. We get it and then some. It’s more than a car, it’s a relationship. At times the relationship is great and things are smooth sailing, but sometimes things get to a point where it is just time to move on. You may not like it, and yes, you may have regrets, but there comes a time when yoi have to decide if it’s worth the trouble anymore. If you can’t justify that it is, then you already know the answer.

If you’re not gonna drive it, don’t just let it sit there and rot.

It’s not going to rot here, so that’s not really an issue. It actually saves me money on insurance for the Fiesta.

How do they do those lifts?

Well, it may not rust, but lot-rot is real if you don’t drive it.

It already has some of that, not from sitting, but from age. That’s a lot of the work that needs done to it.

I’m not trying to convince you to sell it, but rather to make the decision to either fix it and use it some, or let it go to somebody else who will. I know you’ve got a long history with it, and I don’t think I could stand to let a vehicle that I had a lot of history with just sit around and deteriorate.
